Long Day!

Wow, what a day!  I woke up this morning not feeling well, and the day has gone like I felt this morning...not well.  Stephen has been fighting the "crud" for about five weeks now and refusing to go to the doctor.  I went to bed last night with a small tickle in my throat and woke up with a severe headache, a really sore throat, and massive head congestion.  My very loving husband took one look at me and said, "Wow, you look terrible (thanks, honey!), you should go to the doctor!"  To which I retorted "the only way I'm going is if you go too."  So, the doctor appointments were made, but we had to wait all day.  Stephen went on to work and I climbed on the sofa with the munchkin and tried to make the best of it.  Caleb is awesome and has been into everything today.  Our house looks like a tornado hit it!  Oh well, at least my baby is happy and healthy, and the walls are still standing.  Stephen has been a sweetie this evening and made chicken soup, so I am going to eat and then go to bed.  Sinus infections and clogged up ears are no fun!

Making a Move!

Since my last post (my only post), we have had big changes happening at the Sebesta house...a move is on the way!  I have only had time to do the one posting because everything has been happening at what seems like the speed of light.  We decided somewhere around the first of February that we were going to put the house on the market.  We have been talking about doing this for four years now, but it has taken us this long to actually do it.  So, on February 21st we officially listed the house.  On Friday, February 22nd, Laurie and Nancy (our realtor and her assistant) came in to help us "stage" the house, and then on Saturday, February 23rd, Laurie showed the house for the first time.  Three days later we found out that two different couples were going to be bringing us offers on the house, and on Thursday, February 28th, we received both of them.  We went to work sorting out all the details with the first offer and finalized a deal on Friday.  Yes, for all general purposes we sold out home in a week, and no we didn't have any idea where we were going to be moving!  It all happened so fast; we expected that the house would probably sale pretty quick (like 4-6 weeks), but not a week!  So, for the past couple of weeks we have been busy looking for another house that we could call home.  We found one on the opposite side of town that we just fell in love with, but someone else fell in love with it too (obviously it wasn't the house for us)!  So, we kept looking, and looking!  I think I have seen 40+ houses in the past two weeks (that doesn't include all the screenings done through email and the internet), but through all the searching we finally found a house!   It is not our "dream" house or the "forever" house, but it is a very beautiful "stepping stone" that we will be calling home for several years!
